Description:

With cozy booths, pool tables, and a jukebox full of oldies, this is a popular neighborhood bar. Weekdays are mellow, catering to a young Mission crowd. On weekends, however, the giant neon martini that overflows with a cascading light show outside draws people in from all over the Bay Area. Join in the fun at this Mission institution and find out why it has been a favorite for decades.

Great local bar. Cheap beer and chill atmosphere on the weekdays. Weekends it gets filled with hipsters and is too loud to bring in friends for a good conversation. Still trying to figure out why they pulled out the pool table.

The 500 Club is a classic, cozy, good local dive. There's not a lot of seating if you hit it on a busy night, and the air circulation could be (a lot) better. If you're looking for a place to knock back a few beers or shots, and call your home away from home, this is a contender. Also wondering what happened to the pool table.
